Frequently asked questions

Who do you work with?

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and young adults who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, self-criticism, life transitions, or a general sense of feeling stuck. I also work collaboratively with parents to better understand their child’s needs, strengthen communication, and develop practical strategies that support the child both at home and in daily life.

What approach do you use?

My work with adults and young adults is primarily grounded in Schema Therapy, focusing on understanding and changing long-standing emotional patterns and core beliefs that influence current experiences and relationships. With children and adolescents, I mainly use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach combined with Play Therapy techniques, allowing support to be adapted to the child’s developmental level through both structured and creative methods.

What is Schema Therapy?

Schema Therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that helps identify long-standing emotional patterns that often develop earlier in life and continue to influence present-day thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I am currently completing advanced training in Schema Therapy and integrate its principles into my work where appropriate.

How long is a session?

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes.

How often do we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. The frequency is adjusted over time depending on your needs, progress, and preferences.

In what language are sessions offered?

Sessions are available in English and Greek.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. All sessions are confidential and conducted in accordance with professional ethical standards and Dutch privacy legislation.

Is therapy covered by my insurance?

At the moment, therapy sessions cannot be covered by Dutch health insurance. This means that you will need to cover the cost of the sessions out of pocket. However, if you have another health care provider, you can always contact them to inquire about potential coverage.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel or reschedule your appointment for no charge with a minimum of 24 hours' notice. For cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment or for no-shows, you will be charged 100% of the session's fee. Please note that this policy does not apply in cases of sickness or due to unexpected circumstances.

Is there a waiting list?

No, there is no waiting list. Once you make the first contact with me, I will do my best to arrange our first appointment, based on your availability, of course, within one week.
